Now this, as the first episode, was meant to set a precedent for how I wanted to go about the comic...... and it failed in some aspects.
I liked it, and it was sweet, but this would immediately be non canon. I was going to later have an episode that went on to confirm this (Lucas going ‘y’know that’s not actually what happened, right?’), but never got around to it. Considering I truly didn’t know what to make for the first episode, meeting the boys by some fantasy-aspect made sense, I guess? I dunno. I thought the ‘Friday Facts’ were also cute, considering that I wanted to have a little segment for Liam.
Considering that the village would be expanded on as well, talking about different facts about the village also sounded fun! Especially since this was also the first canon mention of the new area the ocs live in. But I also. didn't have that many ideas for facts either, so it was kinda messy. This is what I meant when I kinda didn't know what I wanted for the reboot, so I just threw whatever stuck.
However, I did reuse the ‘talking with Liam at my desk about what the first episode should be’ concept again in 02 as a callback, hinting at some previous things being canon in the overall story! Same desk, different time...
